Homecoming

Chad's plane landed around 7:30pm last night, and we were all there to meet him. Or at least were circling in the car like a pack of vultures around the arrivals curb. The three of us, Brandon, Parker and I decided that we would have a pajama party to go get Daddy. So, we donned our finest pj's, and our winter coats, because it was 16 degrees, and picked up Chad. It made for a late night for the boys (Parker actually fell asleep in the car ride home), but it was worth it to see their little faces light up when they saw Chad get in the car! Boy, did we miss him. And it stunk to have him leave for work first thing this morning. Now, we have to get through three more days before we get a day with him. Somebody's gotta bring home the bacon though. The good news is that in two weeks, he'll have a whole week off again for the holidays. Can't wait.

The boys are beyond excited about Christmas. It is a constant topic of conversation, not to mention that we are always listening to Christmas carols, watching "The Grinch that Stole Christmas", and reading Christmas stories. I absolutely love this time of year, always have, but that appreciation just grows with kids. It's so much fun to share with them all of my favorite traditions, like making the red and green construction paper chain to count down the days till Christmas and making Christmas cookies and all that good stuff. And now that I have mailed all Christmas gifts, cards, and completed all shopping, I can relax and enjoy the season.
