Vacation!

We had a great trip to NH this past weekend! We visited Lou & Margaret and also did our second annual Storyland visit with Sheri-Lynne and her family. What a great weekend - decent weather, no traffic on our drives, and the kids had a blast.

We spent all day at Storyland on Saturday and then went out to dinner afterwards with Sheri-Lynne, Paul and the kids. Everybody was exhausted by dinnertime, after 7+ hours at the amusement park, but still amazingly well-behaved. The consensus was that the Bamboo Chutes (ie, the log floom ride) was the favorite ride of the day... enhanced by the fact that there was no line, so we just stayed on our boat and rode it over and over again. It was kind of cloudy, so I think that scared off a bunch of people and lines were really small all day. But, it never rained and the temperatures were really pleasant - so a perfect day at Storyland, all in all!

On Sunday, Lou took us fishing - just to a local pond so that the kids could try it out. Unfortunately, the fish were not biting, so we went for a little hike to wrap up the morning. In the afternoon, we took the kids to a pirate-themed mini-golf course - big hit because there were all kinds of waterfalls and water hazards on the course AND everyone got pirate hats and jolly roger flags at the end. After that, we got ice cream and played on a playground for the rest of the afternoon.

Overall, just a nice and relaxing weekend. We got home around lunchtime on Monday, which was good because I had enough time to do several loads of laundry and get in a bike ride. And today, we are back in our normal routine... but just a few weeks until another long weekend for 4th of July. Love when we get more days with Chad!
